Of asses, mules and pride, all in the name of Love

It’s amazing how easily a friendship can be shaken up. One claims it to be an issue of integrity and morals; another justifies it with love and friendship. Outsiders like myself see it different. I like to think that it’s just noise in the background. As it grew louder and louder, it was quite plain to see it was about two guys and a girl.
I’m quite amused by how stubborn all of us are. Es and Gs refuse to give in to each other. I wonder why. Gs continues to stand by his principles and I can see the constant verbal attacks from his side, each strike having lesser and lesser impact than the previous. He claims to know what he’s doing. Somehow I doubt he does. I think he lacks the foresight and experience to see what he’s doing and anticipate what comes next. He doesn’t put himself in the shoes of other people to gain a better picture. He’s also too stubborn to take good advise when given to him. As Mr T would say, he has failed the Rules of Engagement.
Es is more level minded and probably more apt to handle the situation. But somehow, the fact that he says he still has feelings for F disturbs me. I suspect he is using this as a leverage to get her back and to get Gs to stand down. I also think another reason for him to declare such a thing in the open is probably he is trying to gain support from friends in the near future. Moreover, by saying that he still has feelings for her justifies what he’s doing now and would certainly make sense to patch things up with F in the near future.
So what happens next? I think there will be more bickering between those two idiots. Gs will probably end up being very bitter about the whole issue; the circle will probably end up with only him in it. Es will probably be the same, he might or might not have F back into his life.
